Toyota president attempting to boost Japanese worker morale

Toyota workers in Japan are to be the central subjects of a drive from the company to improve morale as well as health and wellbeing at the organisation, following negative news stories about the company which have travelled around the world.

Akiio Toyoda, the president of the Japanese carmaker, brought 2,000 workers together at its headquarters in Nagoya to have them see him wearing a workers' uniform and give an emergency morale-boosting - one which was also broadcast live across Toyota's network in Japan.

He said: "We have many problems to overcome but we can certainly get over the difficult situation. Let us join hands and work on regaining our customers' confidence."

Mr Toyoda added that the company had grown too quickly and this is what led to the recall of millions of cars.

Sadly, the problems continue for Toyota, following further criticisms from Toyota owners that the faults with cars had not been fixed and that many were still experiencing problems.
