Singapore witnesses surge in hiring

The important of having an effective employee benefits strategy in place is becoming more evident as recruitment levels increase in Singapore.

Hiring is set to continue increasing in the fourth quarter of the year, according to the latest edition of the Manpower Employment Outlook Survey.

The total employment outlook for the last quarter was +21 per cent. However, the seasonally-adjusted figure for the present quarter is +23 per cent.

A quarter of employers in Singapore are hoping to increase their workforce in comparison to only three per cent anticipating a cutdown on staff numbers, stated the report.

Peter Haglund, country manager of Manpower Singapore, said that the culture of pursuing employees with various benefits was definitely back.

He added: "Companies with the best HR strategies will stand a stronger chance to move forward, as long as they understand it is critical to have strategies in place to attract and retain talent."
